Receipt Printer Name Registry entry

Specifies the name of a Receipt printer. This entry is used to inform Vitalware of a Receipt printer that replaces one that was hard-coded into Vitalware.

A Receipt printer is used specifically for printing receipts and may require functionality that is not available in a normal printer. In the past the name of a Receipt printer was hard-coded into Vitalware; when printing a receipt, Vitalware checks that the Windows printer name is the same as the name it has recorded in order to confirm that it is printing to a true Receipt printer rather than a normal printer.

The Receipt Printer Name Registry entry records the name of a Receipt printer and can be used to inform Vitalware of a Receipt printer that replaces the model that was hard-coded into Vitalware.

printer

is the name that Windows uses to refer to the printer. To find this:

  1. Select Start>Printers and Faxes.

    The Printers and Faxes window displays.

  2. Right-click a printer in the list and select Properties.

    The name that recorded on the General tab in the first text box is the Windows name for the printer.
